| Buying And Selling Real Estate > Transferring Attorneys > Places in South Africa All attorneys who practise in the Northern, Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa are required, in terms of the Attorneys Act, to register as members of the Cape Law Society. The Society investigates complaints about the conduct of attorneys to determine whether the attorney has contravened rules governing professional conduct, and then taking appropriate steps.
The Cape Law Society is run by a Council of 24 practising attorneys and operates with an administrative staff of 36, 9 of whom are admitted attorneys. The Society is also supported by attorney members who give freely of their time and skills by acting as examiners, assessors of bills, arbitrators, advisers and members of specialist committee members. |
