JOHANNESBURG DEEDS OFFICES EVICTED
Please can some one tell me how a instution like the Deeds Office of Johannesburg can end up getting evicted for not paying their rent? Surely we pay for the services of the Deeds Office or has anyone got it for free. I sure didn't get it. We pay the full price for delayed services just like everything else in South Africa.
My father passed away in August 2004. He left my mother a house debt free. Today almost three years later we still face the problem of taking the house off my late father's name and leave it only on my mother's name as the propety was in both names. On the 30th December 2007 the clearance figures for the Metro Politan Town Council will expire for the second time. There is no contact to be established with the Deeds Office as they are using their phone line to be online. Oh and don't forget on the 14th December 2007 they close for the festive season right after they just re opened their offices at a new premisis.
